A little boy will be arriving in our family very soon. Number 2 grandson !!!
The last five grandchildren born have all been girls, and of course I adore girls, but a little boy is going to be oh ,so very special, I am counting the days now..as is his Mum and Dad !

Hi, just found your blog and that is the loveliest baby vest. I am expecting a grandchild into the family in October and I would love to use Regia sock yarn to knit some little socks.....I'm just wondering if it will be soft enough next to baby's skin.

Thank you Florrie. Yes, I think the sock yarn will be OK because the baby will probably be wearing a soft cotton babygro underneath the vest, so should be fine.
Oh sorry.......I meant the socks against the babys skin.
such a sweet vest - and such an excitement to think of a baby boy! Congratulations to all, in anticipation :^)
Oh, I am sorry Florrie, I didn't read it properly. There certainly is softer 4 ply around for socks and booties, maybe a air in Regia for a slightly older baby ?

That's so lovely! And this post made me smile, too. I'm one of four girls, and I have 4 nieces and 1 nephew. I clearly remember the excitement in our family when my nephew was born! Oh how wonderful to have a boy, at last!!
Oh congratulations Sally and family! How exciting a new baby. The vest is so sweet, and i'm sure it will be well used and loved.
love,

That is the cutest little vest and what a wonderful idea to use the sock yarn. Congrats on the soon to be born little boy. Grandchildren are just the most exquisite treasure in the whole wide world!!!
Oh Sally I love it , sooo sweet cant wait to see him in it! love the colours
Sally--
I love the bright colors and pattern that you used! You are such a loving Gma...I know that this baby will be a happy one!!
Hugs-
I'm checking in on my New Zealand bloggers that I follow--just read about the quake and hope you and the family are OKAY. Prayers from Wisconsin
Me, too, Sally...just writing to check whether you are all ok there...I heard about it on the radio tonight and just shuddered.
That is adorable, lucky baby. I've used sock yarn to knit jumpers but I really do like the little vest, wonder who I can persuade to have a little boy.
