Our little family went back to their farm yesterday, and I am home alone today...not for long though as I have more grandchildren arriving this afternoon. It is the school holidays here, and daylight saving has begun. The holidays, longer evenings and enjoying the children, unfettered by timetables is making me feel festive and time to shake off the last remaining nasty flu energy.......begone I say, and next year I promise to take my flu shot !
Thank you so much for all the lovely words and messages on little Leo's arrival. I appreciate your comments a great deal, and the friends and support through blogland have been an unexpected pleasure !
The bootees for Leo were knitted up very quickly as he had a need, and they are some that I found the pattern for after googling " stay on bootees ". The link is here, and I loved making them because there is absolutely no sewing up. They are knitted in the round just like socks and so use five doublepointed needles. Very quick and super easy.

quick easy and super cute!! So glad to hear you're feeling better, too :^)
Good to hear Sally, go gently though, it takes time to come back. Leo is so lucky to have such a sweet and talented (very) grandmother. The booties are cute and practical! thank you for the link.
☺
Hi Sally, I found your blog completely by accident over the weekend. Firstly, congratulations to all concerned with the arrival of your beautiful new grandson! What a lovely wee lad! Secondly, how wonderful to catch up with you and all your family news, not to mention superb craftwork. And last but not least, lovely to hear you're still playing music. It seems a lifetime since I was in Nelson teaching and playing. Phone me if you have the inclination sometime. I'm in the Auckland directory. I'm heading to Nelson in 2 weeks for 6 days, so we might be able to catch up and have coffee/tea or even lunch. Best wishes, Wendy B (ex Nelson flutey and piano teacher!)
What a shame our babies are too big for booties now or I'd be knitting those. I had a grandy over for a few hours and it wore me out.
Those little booties are lovely and with my second grandchild due in only one week I think I will be sorting out yarn and needles to knit them, thanks for the link.
What adorable tiny booties! : ) Welcome Leo.
